Rockbrook Village Apple Day Craft Show Radio ad with Signature Crunch
Almost all national TV and Radio commercials use music exclusively written for their ads–unless buying the rights to previously recorded music bed or to a pop, rock and country song. Your major advertisers don’t peruse the typical radio station commercial music bed library–sifting through the stock of tempos and styles to choose a fitting piece for their ad. But, tapping the royalty-free music library is what we did at Journal Broadcast Group for our local Rockbrook Village Apple Day Craft Show commercial.
The script also called for an apple bite or “crunch” to go with the line, “… the finest crafters from all over the Midwest help you… [sfx: apple bite crunch] …take a bite out of your holiday shopping!” Standard procedure is to search the station’s sound effect (sfx) library to locate a good “crunch”. That would have happened except our producer Brian Eckleberry pointed out the coincidence of having an apple for lunch during our Noon hour production session. I half-joking suggested that he record his apple crunch to see if it would work. Brian did–and it worked! So, while using a generic music bed, this Apple Day Craft Show commercial does have an exclusively produced apple “crunch”. Isn’t that special? You won’t hear this bite in any other commercial around the world!
But listen carefully or you may miss it!
